It is a unique name with unusual spelling.
Solar - This is the source of our energy. The sunlight is an essential and healthy for humans on Earth. It is free and weather allowing, easily obtained as a source of energy for campers, boondockers, and off-griders.
MaXX- we use the term “MaXX” to show the 2 processes we use to maximize energy.
1. The first capital X is the first process we use to put motion into both the vertical and the horizontal movement of the solar panels to gain maximum energy through maximum direct exposure to the sun. Our solar tracker AUTOMATICALLY tracks the sun by moving the solar panels on two axes both vertically and horizontally all day long to capture the Maximum energy available.
2. The second capital X is the electrical processes we use to gain maximum use of the solar energy. The solar panel uses a 24-volt 200-watt panel. The MPPT solar controller safely monitors the battery for correct input, 12 or 24 volts, lead acid, AGM, or lithium batteries, and adjusts accordingly. The results are, you have more amperage power safely delivered to the batteries.
RV - Our main customer base is the Recreational Vehicle industry. The research and development we have conducted of our product has been directed at the needs of RV owners. Our goal is to provide our customers with the best technology available, dependable, safe and easy to operate. Our solar tracker system has been developed over 4 years of R&D, field testing, engineering and many discussions and tryouts with customers. Maximizing available solar energy in a convenient setup with focus on the RVer’s needs is or goal.
With that said, our solar tracker is really ideal for anyone needing the most efficient way to harvest solar energy, regardless if you are an RVer or not.
One of our owners, Ed, has been an avid camper, boondocker and enjoyed being an off-grid camper the most. His first experience of going off-grid was on Bureau of Land Management property in Quartzsite Arizona . Each morning Ed would see an older camper use a ladder to adjust his rooftop solar panels both vertically and horizontally often throughout the day. As the gentleman climbed the ladder 5-8 times daily, it would shake as he ascended and descended. Several times his wife would come outside and tell him to “quit climbing the ladder, it is unsafe”.
A few RVs down from Ed, was another camper that had a large portable suitcase model solar panel kit. Ed noticed day after day this gentleman would adjust his solar suitcase 4-6 times a day side to side, up and down to get the best numbers for his solar panels. Ed began discussing with his neighbors the process they were using to track the sun to charge their batteries. They told Ed that it was necessary to check and move his panels 5-10 times a day to gain enough energy to use their gas furnace (uses electric blowers), lights, water pump, and refrigerator at night.
Days later, Ed joined the two gentlemen discussing the merits of leaving the solar panels flat on the ground and flat on the rooftop. They both agreed to try the static flat position of the solar panels. At the end of the day, both gentlemen checked the charge stored in their batteries. Both agreed that they had less energy as they had gained in the past by adjusting their panels. The next day, Ed heard them talking about the battery capacities. Both still had a charge in their batteries, but both were below the 50% floor that may cause damage. One had lead acid batteries, the other had AGM batteries. Both gentlemen returned to adjusting their panels during the day. A week later, one of the gentlemen bought a gas-powered generator to charge his batteries. However, he had to run the generator all day to get a full charge. He tried running the generator at night but those around him, even those at a distance, complained about the noise and their desire to sleep in a quiet place. The other gentleman soon moved to a nearby RV campground.
Ed returned home. He had two friends that are engineers. He asked his two friends to meet with him to discuss the issues around the problem of solar energy. Ed asked, “Can we design and build a solar tracker that can be used to fully charge the batteries of a RV for the necessary accessories?" After a long discussion, it was agreed that it would be possible. Now, after 4+ years of research and development, trials and modifications, we have developed the best solar tracker for RVs and campers. We encourage you to try our solar tracker. It is based on significant engineering, field testing, input from campers, off-griders, and is the very best value.
This is a true story that Ed participated in 2018 at Quartzsite, Arizona. Our goal for inventing the Solar MaXX RV Solar Tracker was to solve the issues these gentlemen faced. Not only did we solve these issues, but we also created a much better and safer way to obtain a greater amount of solar energy in the same amount of time.
