  • What is the frame of the Solar MaXX made of?

    The frame of the Solar MaXX is made from 1/16th inch thick anodized aluminum square tubes with nylon connectors. 

  • How far does the Solar MaXX rotate in a day?

    The Solar MaXX rotates a maximum or 120 degrees precisely tracking the sun daily, and then automatically returns in the morning to start the next day. The tracker roates around the handle on a 4 foot radius. Be sure to allow enough space to rotate without running into any objects.

  • Can the Solar MaXX be secured at the camp site?

    Yes, the Solar MaXX can be secured via a chain or cable and stake (or to the RV) available for purchase separately as an accessory. 

  • What happens if there is a strong wind and the Solar MaXX is deployed with nobody at the campsite?

    The Solar Maxx has a provision embedded into its electronics that will sense the high wind and safely fold the Solar MaXX down flat to avoid any damage from high winds. 

  • How much does the Solar MaXX weigh?

    The Solar MaXX frame, including the wheels, weighs approximately 13 pounds. The 200-watt solar panel weighs approximately 22 pounds. 

  • How do I connect the Solar MaXX to my rig’s batteries?

    There are two ways to connect the Solar MaXX to your rig’s batteries:

    1. Connect directly to the batteries using the alligator cable clamps (included).
    2. If your rig has an solar panel connection port near the batteries, use the plug on the end of the Solar MaXX charging cable to connect to this port. We also offer a 15’ extension cable accessory so that you can park your rig in the shade and place the Solar MaXX in the sun.
  • What type of batteries will the Solar MaXX charge?

    The electronics in the Solar MaXX allow any type of popular RV battery to be charged, including wet-cell, AGM, and lithium batteries.

  • Is the Solar MaXX water resistant?

    The Solar MaXX is design to be water proof in raining conditions. All components are either made of Aluminum, stainless steel, or plastic. All electronics are enclosed in watertight boxes for safety. The Solar MaXX is not intended for full submersion in water.

  • Will the Solar MaXX totally charge my rig’s batteries?

    That depends on how much sun is available and how fully charged the batteries are at the time of connection to the Solar MaXX. The Solar MaXX WILL provide the maximum amount of charge to the batteries of your rig that is possible for the solar panel, given the weather conditions, location, and time of year.

  • What type of warranty comes with the Solar MaXX?

    The Silver, one-year warranty, comes standard with the Solar MaXX. The Gold, two-year warranty, and the Platinum 3-year warranty are both available for purchase.

  • How long does it take to set up the Solar MaXX?

    It usually takes less than five minutes to set it up.

  • What are the folded dimensions of the Solar MaXX?

    The frame of the Solar MaXX is 38 3/8” long by 15 7/8” wide by 8 1/2” tall. The 200-watt solar panel is 55 1/4” long by 27 3/4” high by 1 3/8” thick.

  • What maintenance is required for the Solar MaXX?

    Just clean the solar cell when they get dirty to receive the maximum amount of energy to charge your batteries. Clean the Solar MaXX frame only with a clean water damp cloth. Do not emerge either the solar panel or the Solar MaXX under water and do not use a pressure washer at any time.

  • Is there a mobile app available to monitor the solar tracking functions?

    The MPPT charge controller is made by Newpowa. There is a mobile compatible to monitor the solar tracking and to set they battery type for the controller for Android in the Google Play Store and also iPhones in the Apple Store .
